Kate has worked with us for many years. When people say they need an SEO expert on their staff, many have an idea of where they want to go, but few know how to gauge if you need someone full-time or part-time to get them there. Kate knows how to clarify that situation. “Start with what you need, but you need someone like the one doing the job to determine how much time it really takes” says Michael Schlager about the value of bringing Kate to our group last year. “Kate has the wisdom to determine the difference and you can’t get that from someone not in the field every day”.
Kate is an Internet Marketing consultant with a strong background in custom software development and management in large corporations. With a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems from Western Michigan, Kate began her technology career as a programmer and soon held the titles of project manager, business analyst, and program office manager. She worked at Valassis Inserts, Computer Automated Business Systems (AUS), Seer Technology (UK & Italy), Republic National Bank (now HSBC), Mutual of New York (MONY), Viacom and Arrowsight.
After the dot-com bubble burst, Kate took her corporate Intranet experience and began working with small to medium size businesses on the Internet. It soon became apparent that if you build a website it doesn’t mean anyone will come to it – so Kate studied Search Engine Optimization. She enjoys the creative and fast pace of the Internet Marketing world. For the last decade, Kate has been working exclusively on the optimization of websites and other Internet properties such as YouTube and Social Media as well as online press releases and pay-per-click Internet advertising.
