Jeffrey P. Cohen, Ph.D. is a Professor of Economics at the University of Hartford ’s Barney School of Business. He has been a full-time faculty member there since August 2000. Jeffery conducts federally-sponsored and non-profit sponsored research on urban development, real estate, housing, land-use, and environmental economics, with specific emphasis on public policy and business aspects of these areas. He has published over 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and other outlets.

Jeffrey Cohen, Ph.D. teaches several classes, including graduate (MBA) and undergraduate level economics classes (such as Urban Economics, Managerial Economics, Environmental Economics, Quantitative Methods in Business, and Principles of Economics).

In addition to his work at the University of Hartford, Dr. Cohen has been a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, from 2001-2008. His close, ongoing collaboration has continued with the Bank’s Senior Vice President and Policy Adviser to the President, Cletus C. Coughlin, Ph.D. Dr. Cohen’s other consulting clients have included the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, the OECD, the Vancouver International Airport Authority, the Ellison Institute at Harvard University, the U.S. Department of Energy, the National Center for Metropolitan Transportation at the California State University-Long Beach, Standard & Poor’s, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, the Federal Aviation Administration and Transportation Research Board of the National Academies of Sciences.
